MDS 3.0

The MDS 3.0 will become effective on 10/1/2010.  The Final Version will be published in October 2009 and it is time to begin to train your staff in this new process.  This session will discuss the use of the resident voice and standardized tools being integrated into the MDS.  We will examine each section of the MDS 3.0 and RAI requirements.  We will also discuss the change from Resident Assessment Protocols (RAPs) to Care Area Triggers (CATs).  A case study and exercise on working with the Care Areas Assessment will be included.  Participants will have "take aways" of tools that the facility can begin to utilize immediately in preparation for the MDS 3.0.  It is recommended that all members of the interdisciplinary team attend this training session.
